MADOCA™ Music Entertainment: Press/Review

Performance Reviews

Madoca & Co. were really great. Our school reunion dinner/dance featured a "Cotton Club" theme. The music and tempo were right on target for the event. Everyone loved them. They are great to just listen to or to dance as well. I would highly recommend Madoca and Prince. They were very professional and easy to work with. I look forward to booking them for another event.

Madoca and Company were great! We had them play at our wedding reception and they did a wonderful job. If someone wanted the mic to do a toast they obliged. A family friend asked for the mic at one point to sing a song and the band joined in. So many people came up to us and our parents during the reception to comment on how good the band was. They read the crowd perfectly and started the event playing nice jazz instrumental. When everyone was ready to dance they started to play good dance songs and sing. It was amazing.

Let me start by saying 'they where fantastic.' The quality of the music was outstanding. My sister (Hostess of the Event)and I are hard pressed to describe in words how 'spectacular' they where. They where AWESOME. We plan to keep them on our "to Book in the Futur" list. We Love Them!

Madoca and Company are right up there with the hottest talent that RexTrax studios has ever worked with. Their new album is a must have for any true jazz enthusiast and for that matter, anyone who loves great music performed by astonishing talent. Also as a fan who has seen them perform live, I must say I'm extremely impressed with their show. Madoca and Company are cutting edge and sure to make an impact in the hearts of music lovers that appreciate a super high level of energy and talent.

They were absolutely great! They all were very friendly and excellent musicians. I would recommend them and would gladly use them again!

Madoca and Prince have a beautiful sound and their music was so additive to our rehearsal dinner. They were wonderfully pleasant to work with and followed through on everything they promised. Our only dissappointment was that people toasting the bride and groom talked so long that our time to listen to Madoca and Prince was much less than we'd hoped, but that was certainly not their fault. We've also purchased Madoca's CDs and really love her talent. Again, they are beautiful talented people and we enjoyed them very much.

As most brides we dream of our wedding as little girls, teenagers and young ladies to be a perfect day. We dream of our prince charming, looking like a princess in our wedding gowns, the perfect venue. Once we get to the point of planning our special union day it becomes stressful and we want to know that this once in a lifetime dream comes true. Madoca & Company played a key role in my dream wedding day. I researched many musicians for my special day and found that Madoca had the sound, professionalism and dependability I wanted on my wedding day. If you are looking for great music, reliability and the best jazz music on your event I would recommend Madoca & Company.

Madoca:

This Atlanta-based keyboardist won several awards in her native Japan, and blends jazz, fusion and funk (think Chick Corea). She’s worked with Eric Marienthal, Paul Young and many more and opened for Chris Botti, and tours as a Band with guitarist/singer (and former member of TC Jason S.O.S. Band sideman) The Prince Project.

It was our pleasure. I had so many compliments on your performance and thank you for working with our singer Kristenicia. It made it even more special. You all are fun and so great to work with. Thank you.

I wanted you guys to know that I got to see you at the Hyatt Hotel (Windy Hill area). I was there to meet some people for business. Honestly, I almost forgot why I was there because the band was very good. I tried to tell as many people as I could to find you, go see you, check out the web site, and get that CD Thank you for a great evening

Madoca: I enjoyed you and Prince at the Chamber Auction. I am excited about opportunities to enjoy your music in the future.

Charlene Bowden,The Chamber Auction, the Gwinnett Center - Client feedback (Jan 7, 2006)

They were great for our party. They were extremely flexible with us since our party got rained out initially so we moved the party and music inside. With no hassle they moved inside. Then, the skies cleared and we were able to spend the rest of the party out on our deck. With no hesitation, Madoca and Prince moved their setup to our deck and were instrumental in making our party an absolute success.

CD Reviews

Madoca has absolutely done a fantastic job with "Mysterious Ways". This High-energy disc covers the full range of sounds, while mostly jazz. Madoca expands her compositions by touching them with aspects of fusion, pop and funk to heart wrenching soul. Madoca blends both traditional instruments, as well as, electronic music with her world-class piano and organ. The results are very engaging compositions that are dynamic in creativity and musicianship. "Mysterious Ways"will carry you through a range of sensations and emotions, effortlessly. Seriously, Madoca is playing from the backbone and talking no prisoners with "Mysterious Ways".

Madoca’s Amethyst Atlanta’s own Madoca™ has released her second CD entitled Amethyst. Madoca is a Japanese American Jazz Fusion keyboardist whose name is pronounced “Ma du ka.”  She is an internationally acclaimed composer and performer from Japan who is able to create music that has great energy. This CD features ten original tracks, a standard from Rogers and Hart and a classic from Isaac Hayes. Since 2005 with her first CD “Mysterious Ways” Madoca has been building her reputation as one of Atlanta’s brightest musical gems. Performing as Madoca and Co. with collaborator and producer “The Prince Project”, the two have teamed with some of Atlanta’s best musicians to create another exciting jazz CD.   Her music is composed like jazz conversations where complete ideas are explored by all voices adding their own contribution to the musical dialogue. This music showcases the talents of these musicians and the cohesion that they share. Many of Madoca’s musical influences can be heard including, Chick Corea (RTF), Joe Sample and Miles Davis. Amethyst is a multi-faceted CD with various songs that will appeal to listeners who enjoy “smooth jazz” while other songs incorporate elements of funk and rock for ears who appreciate “fusion.” The make-up of the band on this CD includes Madoca™ (p)(k), The Prince Project (b) (g), Funky Monky (d), Ken Faison (s), Joel Powell (b-acoustic), Billy Odums III (g) and guest appearances by others on vocals. From the CD’s opening track, ”Obsession” we hear that this ensemble can play. Fans of WCLK’s morning radio jazz program will be familiar with the second track, my favorite, “Spiritual.” This song features the core quartet stretching out on a beautiful tune that features some very nice work on drums by Funky Monky. “Atlanta” features The Prince Project on guitar and Joel Powell on acoustic bass with Madoca on piano creating an exceptional resonance symbolic of our vibrant local jazz scene. Billy Odum’s wicked guitar and Sam Skelton’s scorching sax make “Funk It Up!” a funk/jazz jam session inspired by Miles Davis’ 1986 classic “Tutu.” The reggae infused “Amethyst Island” is a statement of Madoca’s creative ability to maintain an infectious energy in whatever she is playing. Her sensual play on “Water Stream” is captivating and her swinging play on “Fusion HWY” is a driving force. This CD is a wonderful follow up effort to “Mysterious Ways” and marks the growth of Madoca’s musical repertoire. This is a CD that you will want to have in your library and share with friends. Madoca and Co. can be seen live playing around Atlanta so check the calendar for the next show For more information about Madoca, you can visit www.madocamusic.com

After listening to the entire list of promotional tracks on the site, I realized at that point that Madoca has a talent that surpasses the standard for jazz artists. With the originality factor and differences in vibes, this project should and I beleive "will" propel Madoca to and though the stars!!!
